Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (67% Ni - 23% Cu) resistant to seawater, high-temperature steam, salt, and caustic solutions. This solid solution alloy can only be hardened by cold working, offering excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, and high strength. Its low corrosion rate in brackish or seawater and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking make it ideal for marine applications and non-oxidizing chloride solutions.
