ASTM B167 covers nickel-chromium-based Alloy 600 in the form of seamless tubes. Alloy 600 is a solid-solution strengthened, nickel-chromium alloy with excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, particularly at high temperatures. This alloy is often used in extreme environments, such as those encountered in heat exchangers, chemical processing, and aerospace applications.

Alloy 600 maintains its strength and stability even in environments with temperature fluctuations and high stresses. The tube form is typically used in heat exchangers, furnace components, gas turbines, and other high-temperature applications where oxidation and carburization resistance are critical.
